He demonstraded that by creating an optimum mix of diffrent asset classes, or by not putting all his eggs in one basket, it was possible to redece the risk and increase return in the overall portfolio. In 1990, Proffesor Markowitz was awardes the nobel Prize for Economics for his groundbreaking work.
